Aav's 6cc v0.9.5 (beta 2)
June 24, 2004
I've just made v0.9.5 beta 1 available.
The original Athlon/Duron CPU's are now supported, and a performance increase of up to 50% can be seen on SSE systems.
I'm making this a beta to iron out any bugs in the new 3DNow! engine. If you have any problems at all with this one, please report it! The final version of v0.9.5 will probably include "blanket support" for pretty much any CPU since the Pentium, and possibly some new features.

Update: Discovered a small but fatal mistake in beta 1, which caused SSE to be enabled on non-capable machines, and not be enabled on SSE-capable ones... this is now fixed, and I bumped up the version number to "beta 2" to reflect it. Sorry.

Aav's 6cc, progress report on v0.9.4
June 18, 2004
Just thought I'd make a quick update on what's coming up in v0.9.4, as it has been a few days now without news.
I've rewritten the entire internal processing algorithm with the goal of improving accuracy, performance and expandability. Those who had noticed that the "Grayscale All" option doesn't quite bring the saturation down to 0 for the entire image, will find that the new version does so. Without going into tiresome details, this means that the "overlap" between the color masks will now be more reliable. A subtle change for the majority perhaps, but it's now done the way it should be. There will be a few new options that enable you to control some of the fine details of this.
As for rendering performance, there may or may not be an immediately noticeable difference. The important thing, though, is that all adjustments you make are now rendered in "constant time" (though still proportional to the size of the video). The rendering rate is thus no longer related to the number of vectors you change or the number of sliders you touch.
I also spent some time exploring the possibility of supporting MMX-only CPU's, writing an integer-only code path. Unfortunately, MMX's 16-bit math isn't enough for accurate processing, and pretty severe quantization was apparent in the vectorscope.
However, in response to several requests, there is hope for a 3Dnow! version, which would open up for the old non-XP Athlon machines. I'll be looking at this for v0.9.5.
I've still got one or two things to fix before releasing v0.9.4, but it shouldn't be long.

6cc Vegas 4 bug confirmed
June 14, 2004
I've just confirmed that the "Red" dropdown box bug remains in v0.9.3a and it only seems to happen in Vegas 4. I'm working on a solution, should hopefully not take too long.
Quick Update: It appears that all the items are actually in the box, they're just not shown. Pressing the up/down arrow keys while the box is selected will change channels. Still working on a solution.

A problem with the server configuration made the old URL (www.moosehill.se/vegas/) appear empty.
v0.9.3a without installer available
June 14, 2004
If you end up with no plugin showing up in Vegas after running the regular installer, I've made an installer-less version available that you can try instead.
It takes a little bit of manual effort to install it, but it's still pretty easy:
1) Unzip the zip-file someplace where you want the plugin to be.
2) Go to the folder you unzipped into, doubleclick on INSTALL.BAT (it may only say INSTALL or similar).
3) A messagebox should appear saying "DllRegisterServer in aav6cc.dll succeeded". The plugin should now appear when you restart Vegas.
To uninstall the plugin, simply click on UNINSTALL(.BAT) instead. Note that you cannot MOVE the files after you've installed the plugin. Make sure you DO uninstall it before deleting the files. If you just want to move them, run UNINSTALL and then move the files. You can then run INSTALL in the new location.
