Shed
Syntax Highlighting EDitor for Visual Studio .NET
SHED is a small tool that makes it easier to manage
user-definable keyword lists (usertype.dat) for
Microsoft Visual Studio.
- Manage a library of fragments, each containing the keywords e.g. for an API or some other grouping of your choice.
- Edit fragments by launching an external editor.
- Manage "collections" of fragments.
- Export the collection to VStudio (usertype.dat).
Whitespace is ignored by SHED and can be used in fragment files to group keywords logically. In addition, you can add comments by using ";" as the first character of a line.
Thus, lines that are either whitespace or begin with a ";" will be stripped from the generated usertype.dat.

- .NET Framework 1.0 or later installed.
- Visual Studio (.NET 2002/2003, untested on v6.0).
