Latest version - v0.9.5a (final) (June 27, 2004)
  • 3DNow! support added, which means 6cc now works on original Athlons/Durons!
  • Renamed "luminance" to "lightness".
  • New feature: "weighted lightness". This makes the lightness slider affect the image proportional to the original saturation, in short: the lightness slider now makes sense. Your saved presets will retain the old mode, but its recommended that this option is always used from now on.
  • Rendering performance should now be about twice that of v0.9.4, in both the SSE and 3DNow! engines.
  • GUI fix: properly disabling all controls when incompatible CPU found.
  • Reorganized the GUI a bit.
  • New about-box with diagnostic info for bug reports.
v0.9.5 beta 2 (June 24, 2004)
  • Preliminary 3DNow! support added, which means 6cc now works on original Athlons/Durons!
  • Rendering performance should now be up to 50% faster on SSE systems.
  • GUI fix: properly disabling all controls when incompatible CPU found.
  • New about-box with diagnostic info for bug reports.
v0.9.4 (June 18, 2004)
  • Major rewrite of the internal processing engine!
    • Vastly improved accuracy and correctness. For instance, the "Grayscale" preset now properly desaturates all colors.
    • Rendering time is now independent of the number of vectors and settings that are "used". Overall performance looks to be on par with earlier versions.
    • Better implementation of the "Invert influence" feature, leading to more predictable behaviour of the other vectors.
  • The GUI has been updated, added an "info" panel which shows the current values for ALL vectors. Should provide better overview. I'm considering adding some kind of graph for more visual feedback.
v0.9.3b (June 15, 2004)
  • Fixed the Vegas 4 bug where the dropdown box only showed the first line ("Red").
  • The edit boxes can now be used for typing in values manually.
  • Streamlined the look of the GUI a bit.
v0.9.3a (June 13, 2004)
  • Important: The internal settings format has changed. Unfortunately this means that all settings created with a version prior to v0.9.3a will be corrupted. This is (paradoxically) done to ensure that 6cc will stay backwards compatible in the future. It won't happen again!
  • Added Luminance control for completeness.
  • Further performance improvements due to better leverage of SSE.
  • Tentative fix for the channel dropdown problem (some users reported only seeing "Red").
v0.9.2c (June 11, 2004)
  • Major fix: Exception/crash bug on Athlon XP / Pentium 3 machines should be resolved now.
v0.9.2v (June 10, 2004)
  • Now disables gracefully when the system CPU lacks SSE.
  • Fixed the "Show mask" option which broke when fixing the keyframing.
  • Passthrough of alpha channel fixed, was rendering black if another filter was placed after 6cc in the chain.
  • Keyframing should now work properly. Note however that the "Invert" effect simply cannot be interpolated between keyframes, so it will "pop".
  • Fixed the "influence" between color channels. It was causing each channel to modify its neighbors too much. The new method is much smoother, and should even speed up the filter a bit.
v0.9.1 (June 10, 2004)
  • "Show mask" now displays inverted masks properly.
  • Improved performance, it should now be several times faster on most content.
v0.9.0 (June 9, 2004)
  • Initial test release.
